Getting Connected

Last modified 8/16/2023

ResNet

ResNet is the high-speed Internet service accessible via Ethernet cable. ResNet is available throughout all university housing and is included as part of your residential housing fees. All residence halls also have wireless coverage in both rooms and public areas via ISUNet.

Connecting Game Consoles and Media Devices

Students living in residence halls can connect game consoles and other media streaming devices to the internet using wired or wireless connections. The Technology Support Center recommends connecting these devices to the internet via a wired connection for the best experience.

Campus-wide Internet Access

ISUNet is available all across campus, including areas such as residence halls, Bone Student Center, Milner Library, Student Recreation Center, and dining centers.

Off-Campus Wireless/VPN

Students living off-campus will either need to sign up for their own internet service or connect to the network provided by their apartment rental company. While off-campus, students will need to connect using a VPN to be able to access some Illinois State resources, including virtual computer labs. More information regarding VPN and how to download the software is available at the link below.
