Last modified 2/15/2022

Eduroam is a global Wi-Fi service that enables a fast and secure wireless internet connection to visiting university researchers, students, staff, and faculty anywhere an Eduroam connection is available. Over 600 institutions around the world use Eduroam, and those users can access any institution’s Eduroam connection so long as they have a valid and active school profile. To see if your destination institution provides Eduroam, click the following link: https://www.eduroam.us/institutions.

Who Can Access Eduroam at Illinois State University?

Anyone that has an active ISU ULID account can access the Eduroam connection on campus and use the connection interchangeably with “ISUNET”.

Those who are visiting from an institution that also uses Eduroam will be able to connect to ISU’s Eduroam network immediately. Students, staff, and faculty visiting the university will simply need to use their account information given to them from their institution to log in.

What Types of Devices Can Access Eduroam?

Smart phones, tablets, and laptops are able to connect to Eduroam. Simply access your network list from your device and input your credentials.

Should I Use Eduroam or ISUNET?

Functionally, there is no difference between Eduroam and ISUNET. Eduroam is recommended for those who frequently visit other Universities.

Note

The Technology Support Center recommends that ISU users connect to ISUNET when on campus for a more consistent IT support experience.
