Checking Messages in Microsoft 365 Email

This article describes how to check your email messages in your Illinois State University’s Microsoft 365 email inbox through the Microsoft 365 Outlook Web App.
Microsoft 365 Email
Illinois State University’s Microsoft 365 Email can be accessed through the web, via an email client (such as Microsoft Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird), as well on mobile devices. Microsoft 365 email is the primary campus email and calendaring service for campus.

Accessing your inbox and checking email online:
Navigate to Office365.IllinoisState.edu, log in with your full Illinois State Email address (yourUlid@ilstu.edu) and password, and click the Outlook tile to launch the email application.

Your Microsoft 365 email will open and display your Inbox.
Click a message in your Inbox to view its contents. Double click the message for a pop out of the message.
Click the Reply All button to respond, or click the drop down arrow next to Reply All for other reply options.

What You Will See in Your Office 365 Inbox
- Use the New Message button to compose a new message.
- Use the Folders on the left to help organize and group emails. Drag and drop email messages between your main inbox and folders to organize your emails.
- Use the Search Mail and People field to search for specific emails using keywords, or people’s names.
