Configuring Your iPhone and iPad for Microsoft 365 Email

This article describes how to use the iOS mail app to login and access your Illinois State University's Microsoft 365 email on your iPhone or iPad.
How to Use the iOS Mail App to Obtain Your Microsoft 365 Email
If an ISU email account is configured on your device, it is recommended that the account be removed prior to following the steps below. To set up email on your iPhone or iPad:
- Tap Settings → Mail → Accounts → Add Account.
- On the Add Account page, tap Microsoft Exchange.
- Enter your full campus email address, for example "rrbird@ilstu.edu" in the Email field.
- Optional: Enter a description for the account such as ISU Mail in the Description field.
- Tap Next.
- In the pop-up that appears, tap Sign In.
- Enter your ULID password in the Password field, then tap Next.
- Tap Work or school account.
- Ensure your username is correct and enter your password.
Tap Sign In.
Warning
If you are located off-campus while completing the setup process, you will be prompted for your Multi-Factor Authentication approval. See Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for further information.
- Tap Continue.
- Select any functions you would like to sync with your Microsoft 365 account.
- Tap Save.
Your iOS device is now configured for Microsoft 365 email. Your calendar appointments, mail and other items should begin to populate after a few moments.
