Installing Cherwell Desktop Client on a University-Owned Computer

IT Staff at Illinois State University may install the Cherwell desktop client onto their University-owned Windows laptop or desktop computer. At this time, Mac users will need to utilize the Cherwell web client, located at: https://isu.cherwellondemand.com/CherwellClient/

Installing the Cherwell Desktop Client

IT staff may download and install the Cherwell desktop client via any of the methods below.

Submit a Request to Install Cherwell Desktop Client Via the IT Help Portal

If you would like to install the Cherwell desktop client on a University-owned Windows computer for which you do not have administrative rights, you may submit a request to have it installed:

  1. Navigate to the Help portal at https://help.illinoisstate.edu/get-it-help, click Submit Detailed Request, and log in with your ULID and password.
  2. Click the Popular Requests tab →  Install or Update Software.
  3. Complete the form and click Save to submit the request.

A Service Request ticket will be generated and routed to your local tech support. If you would like an update or to see the status of your ticket, click on the Track Requests button on the right-hand side of https://help.illinoisstate.edu/get-it-help, where you can locate your Service Request, leave a note for the team working on your request, and review any updates.

When submitting a request via email, please be sure to include your computer Tag # (6-digit University Identifying number located on a label on the device), Department, and location.
