Connecting Software to Canvas

Last modified 10/22/2024

Before software can be connected to Canvas through any sort of integration, it must pass through the Academic Software Request process. Modern software, even at low or no direct cost, comes with serious implications for privacy, accessibility, licensing, information security, compliance, and user support. There are important factors that must be evaluated to ensure that university policies, procedures, and standards are observed, and that using the software does not place the university at undue risk.

Faculty and staff members may request software be connected to Canvas through the Academic Software Request process. Students may work with a faculty or staff member to submit a request on their behalf when necessary and appropriate. A list of previously reviewed Learning Tool Integrations (LTIs) with Canvas is available in the knowledge article Learning Tool Integration (LTI) in Canvas.
