Canvas Sandbox Requests
Last modified 12/19/2024
Instructors and staff can request a "sandbox" Canvas course site. Sandbox sites are designed to be spaces to practice how to use Canvas and to develop content for future courses. They are not designed to replace special project or ongoing course sites. Canvas Special Use sites are for non-credit-related projects (i.e. faculty resources, student resources, organization resources, task force resources, or training resources).
A sandbox is:
- Temporary. A sandbox is not intended to be an ongoing site. You will have access to it for one year, after which you will be contacted to request an extension or confirm that it can be deleted.
- For personal use. A sandbox is not intended to be published with students or used to disseminate resources.
- Not affiliated with any for-credit course. Any materials built in a sandbox must be copied into a live course. Students cannot enroll in a sandbox.
- You will need to log in to the request form via Central Login.
