ULID Password Expiration

Last modified 2/7/2022

University Login ID (ULID) passwords expire every 180 days (6 months). When your password is nearing its expiration date, you will receive several reminders via email, starting from 30 days prior to expiration. You will also see an announcement when you log into your account on the website. It is your responsibility to change your password before your password expires.

What Happens When My ULID Password Expires?

If you have not changed your password prior to your expiration date, your ULID account will be locked out, and you will be unable to log into University owned computers, or online resources, with the exception of the ULID Account Management website at You will still be able to log into the ULID Account Management Website to reset your password, which will unlock your account. Once you log into the ULID Account Management website and change your password, you will immediately regain access to campus computers and online campus resources, except for the Microsoft 365 suite of applications, which includes your email. It may take 1-2 hours from the time you reset your password before you regain access to Microsoft 365 applications (i.e., Outlook, Excel, Word, OneNote, etc.).

Faculty, staff, and student employees may experience additional impact if their password remains expired for greater than 24 hours; their University Cisco accounts will be automatically deleted at that point. If this occurs, you will be unable to log into Cisco integrated applications such as Cisco Call Manager, Cisco Finesse, or Cisco Jabber. You may contact the Technology Support Center at (309) 438-4357, or by email at in order to submit a request to have your Cisco account restored.
