Last modified 11/6/2023

This semester, there have been a few technology updates in the following State Farm Hall of Business classrooms:

  • SFHB 133
  • SFHB 147
  • SFHB 356
  • SFHB 367

All four rooms have additional technology installed to enhance the ability to deliver synchronous remote instruction.

This includes:

  • A ceiling mounted microphone
  • A wall mounted camera

Ceiling Mounted Microphone

A ceiling mounted microphone provides good coverage for all participants in the classroom.

  • The microphone is the white disk hanging from the ceiling near the center of the room.
  • The microphone has a large blue ring that is illuminated when the microphone is receiving power.
  • If the ring is not illuminated, any microphone problems are not going to be correctable without onsite work by LSAVT.
  • If the ring is illuminated and the audio is not being picked up, check the microphone settings in Zoom.

Wall Mounted Camera

A wall mounted camera in the back of the room provides a wide-angle view of the room and auto tracking to keep the view on people that are detected in frame.

  • The camera system is the black and silver boxes on the back wall of the classroom.
  • The camera has two small light strips on either side of the lens that illuminate white when the camera is receiving power and is connected.
  • If the strips are not illuminated, any problems with the camera are not going to be correctable without onsite work by LSAVT.
  • If the strips are illuminated and video is not working, check the video setting in Zoom.
