Using Call Forwarding on your Cisco VoIP Phone

You may use the call forwarding feature on your on-campus VoIP phone to forward calls to another phone.

Setting up call forwarding in the Unified Communications Self-Care Portal

  1. Go to the Unified Communications Self-Care Portal at https://voip.ilstu.edu/ucmuser/
  2. Login with your ULID and password
  3. Make sure you are on the Phones tab at the top
  4. Select Call Forwarding from the menu on the left
  5. Checkmark the “Forward all calls to:” box
  6. Select add a new number from the dropdown
    1. If you have  done this before, select the phone number you wish to forward to and skip to number 8
  7. Type in the number you want your phone forwarded to
    1. Campus numbers need to be typed in the 5 digit form starting with 8 (i.e. 8XXXX)
    2. External numbers must be formatted with the 71 prefix followed by a 3 digit area code and a 7 digit number (i.e. 71309438XXXX)
  8. Select the Save button below Advanced calling rules
  9. You will get a notification that Call Forwarding Settings have been updated successfully
  10. You are now able to have your calls forwarded if needed.

Turning on call forwarding from your Desk Phone

To turn on call forwarding for your phone, do the following:

  1. Press the CFwdAll button.
  2. Enter either:
    • The on-campus (5-digit) phone number to which you would like your calls forwarded.
    • Then dial 7 + 1 + the off campus area code and phone number to which you would like your calls forwarded.
  3. After entering a phone number, your phone returns to the main screen. An icon of a phone with a flashing arrow appears in the upper-right corner of your display to indicate that call forwarding is turned on.

Turning off call forwarding

To turn off call forwarding for your phone, do the following:

  1. Press the CFwdAll button.
  2. Your phone will flash to the call forwarding screen and then return to the main screen. Call forwarding is now turned off.
