Joining Zoom Meetings in Canvas

Last modified 10/22/2024

Join from the Zoom area of your Canvas course

Navigate to the Zoom area of your Canvas course site by clicking Zoom on the course navigation menu, then click the Join button for the scheduled meeting:

If you are using a mobile device to join the meeting, the Zoom mobile app will launch automatically when you click Join.

If you are using a laptop or desktop computer, then you will be prompted to join from your browser or download and run the Zoom application to join the meeting.

You may select either of these options. You may also be prompted to choose to join the Zoom meeting's audio from your device's audio, or by dialing in by phone. If you choose to dial in by phone, we strongly recommend dialing *67 before the phone number to ensure that your personal phone number is not made visible to your classmates.

Click on the "Join meeting URL" shared with you

Your instructor may choose not to enable the Zoom integration in your Canvas course. In this case, your instructor will instead share a Zoom meeting link with you via a Canvas announcement or email. Simply navigate to your Canvas course and select Announcements on the course navigation menu. Then, click on the Join URL in the course announcement or course email to join the meeting:
