The canvas attendance feature is not turned on by default for any courses. If you want this feature turned on please follow the instructions below: 

1. Select the  course you want to use the attendance feature from
2. Select Settings from the left-hand Course Navigation Bar
3. Select Navigation from the top menu
4. Locate Attendance
5. Select the three vertical dots next to Attendance
6. Select Enable
7. Attendance should now appear in your left-hand Course Navigation Bar
