Creating and Editing the NSF Biographical Sketch Report
Last modified 6/12/2024
Watermark Faculty Success (formerly known as Digital Measures Activity Insight) is a tool used as a teaching, research, and service report generator. This tool also feeds faculty information to department websites and About.IllinoisState.edu sites.
This article discusses the process of creating a final form report once you have completed an NSF Biographical Sketch form within Watermark Faculty Success.
Creating the Report
Once you have completed the NSF Biographical Sketch form, you can use Watermark Faculty Success to create the final form for you. In order to do so:
- Click Run Reports from the left sidebar.
- Select NSF Biographical Sketch from the first drop-down menu.
- Enter the desired Start Date and End Date. This range MUST span your entire career, from start to present.
- Use the third menu to select which NSF Form for which you would like to generate a report.
- Use the fourth menu to select the File Format in which you would like the report to be exported into.
- Choosing Microsoft Word will allow you to make changes to the exported document (changes won’t affect the Digital Measures system data).
- Choose the Page Size for the custom report from either Letter or A4 in the fifth menu.
- Finally, click Run Report. Once clicked, a file will automatically be downloaded to your computer. To save the document, you must open the report and save the file to the desired storage location.
You have now created a final form report.
Editing the Custom Report
Now that you have a custom report, you will need to format it following a few guidelines:
- The report cannot be longer than two pages.
- If you used the Linked Records function, you will need to delete the Appendix after copying and pasting the necessary entries into the Products section.
- Delete any repetitions.
- Edit Total Collaborators, Total Sponsors, and Total Graduate Advisees, if there were any repetitions.
