Requesting Access to Cognos

Use the following steps to request access to Cognos.
- Select ServiceNow Request Portal.
- This will open the ServiceNow web portal page.
- Enter your ULID in the User ID field.
- Enter your password in the Password field.
- Click the Log In button.
- in the search the catalog bar, search for the Request or Change Access catalog item. Alternatively, if you do not see this tab, please directly email eda@ilstu.edu and indicate the package(s) needed and the corresponding business need(s).
- Fill the Short Description field as "Cognos Training request - ULID" and fill out the red boxes:
- Enter your preferred phone number in the Contact Number field.
- Using the dropdown menu in the Do you wish to add, modify or remove access? field, select Add, Modify, or Remove.
- Using the dropdown menu in the For which service? field, select Cognos.
- In the Additional comments/Instructions field please select which Cognos Package you would like access to, packages are how the reports are grouped.
- You can visit the Enterprise Data & Analytics website for a list of available reports.
- For each package requested, please provide a "Business Need" along with the corresponding text.
- Once all information in this form have been completed, Select Submit.
A Request will be created for your access request and routed to Cognos administrators for processing.
