Live Chat Support

You now have the ability to reach the Technology Support Center through our convenient chat function! Live chat is available during the following times:
Monday - Friday: 8:00 AM - 9:30 PM 
Saturday - Sunday: 10:30 AM - 6:00 PM
*Availability may vary during periods of large call volume. If you are unable to contact the Technology Support Center through chat during the times listed, please give them a call at (309) 438-4357 or click Get Help on the IT Help Portal to submit an incident request form.

To utilize this contact method, perform the following steps:

  1. Navigate to ITHelp.IllinoisState.edu.
  2. Click the Launch Chat button.
  3. A new tab will open requesting you to enter your ULID or full name into the Name field. After typing your ULID or name, click Submit.
    1. You are now in the chat queue and will be connected with a representative as soon as one is available.

NOTE: If you are needing or asked to present a screen shot or to attach an image, Full Remote Support will need to be enabled. Your chat agent will request Full Remote Support. If you accept, you will have to download a chat client that will enable the sending of files.

Important: While the prompt informs you of full remote support, there is no ability to control or see into your computer. Full remote support only enables the ability to share files between the customer and chat support representative. Should remote access be needed to replicate your experienced behavior or obtain screen shots of error messages, ScreenConnect will be the program used by TSC staff.

After your chat session has concluded, you may exit out of all chat screens. You may also uninstall the Full Remote Support client (if you needed to send/receive files) if you choose to.
After exiting chat, you will be directed to a page, where you will have the option to “View Chat Transcript,” “Download Chat Transcript,” and take a short survey. This survey is optional however, we highly encourage you to complete the survey so we may continue to improve the chat support experience
