SendTo

Last modified 2/14/2022

SendTo is a web-based application that allows the sharing of files in a secure manner.

Use SendTo to share files when:

  • Files are too big to be sent as email attachments
  • Files contain Restricted or Highly Restricted data
  • Sensitive and/or Personal information (FERPA)
  • You want to share files with someone outside of the university

Recipients will have 21 days to pick up the files you send them through SendTo.

Who has Access to SendTo

Students, faculty, and staff of Illinois State University can use SendTo to share files with others in a secure manner within the University or with third parties.

File Size Limitations

SendTo has limits on the amount of data that can be uploaded in a single drop-off. Drop-offs may not exceed 50.0 GB per file, or 50.0 GB total for the entire drop-off.

Filedrops

A new feature has been enabled in SendTo which will allow each user to have their own “Filedrop” link. They can use this Filedrop link to receive files directly from anyone. Users can find their specific URL in their Account Settings under Personal Filedrop. This feature is useful for those users who have multiple email aliases to ensure they can access files that are sent to them. It can also be used for anonymous drop offs from external users.
