- Course Setup Process
General Setup Process
To provide some background information, here is the general workflow of the course setup process:- An instructor submits a course request each semester they need a course. In their request, they will be prompted to select ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ to LTI integration.
- The Connect for Education team builds the course request, then provides confirmation.
- If LTI integration was selected, LTI linking information (including the course key) will be provided so that the instructor and LMS admin can complete the necessary steps to get the course LTI-integrated.
These steps will need to be followed each semester that the instructor teaches a course. Course keys are unique to each course shell built each semester and cannot be reused, so the course link setup process will need to be performed for each new course each semester.

- Please note that step 3 and onwards apply to ISU courses.
- Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Please also see below for responses to common questions:
How should ISU faculty members login to the Connect for Education portal?
- ISU instructors can continue to log into our online instructor portal using their existing accounts at the following link: C4E Instructor Portal
- This is the same portal where they have submitted their course requests in previous semesters.
- For faculty using Connect for Education for the first time, they can create their login directly from the portal using the ‘Request Reviewer Account’ option, or may reach out to the Connect for Education team for direct assistance.
How can these textbooks be connected to courses?
- Please note that you should not link textbooks to existing, active Canvas courses. However, in planning for the next semester, instructors can select LTI integration in their course requests so that Connect for Education can create the appropriate courses shells. Then, the instructor will need to follow the additional steps to complete the LTI linking process to connect the text into Canvas.
- The courses and their content are also located on the standalone C4ELink platform.
