NVivo, by Lumivero, is a qualitative data analysis computer software used for the analysis of unstructured text, audio, video, and image data. NVivo is available to individual Illinois State University faculty and staff for use in research activities.

The University has a limited number of licenses for this application; access is only granted by request.

Once a license has been granted, you may install the NVivo client on up to two (Windows or MacOS) devices.

How to Request NVivo

Illinois State University faculty and staff may request NVivo by contacting the Technology Support Center (contact information below). The Technology Support Center will help to obtain the necessary approval and subsequent processing of the request. Information that will be needed in order to process the request are:

• Name (First, Last, Middle Intitial)
• ULID
• Department
