Information Security Document Release Process

Last modified 4/3/2020

The Information Security Office has adopted a simplified approach to releasing documentation. All documents released on the Information Security Docs site will receive a 30-day comment period.

Process

  1. Document is created
  2. Document is published for comment
  3. Document comments are reviewed
  4. Document is revised (if appropriate)
  5. Document is released for use

Comment Period and Review

All documents will receive a comment period of 30 days from their original publication. After the initial 30 days, comments will be reviewed and further edits will be made if appropriate. Comments will be archived with the version of the document they were left on.

Feedback on Documents

Once a document has been released for use, feedback can still be submitted on the document by using the feedback button in the sidebar. This feedback will be reviewed and, if appropriate, may lead to the release of a new version of the document.

Document Updates

Over time, documents will need to be updated to address changes in information security, University operations, and technology. These changes will be done in a new version and will be released again following this process where a comment period will be available.
