Current Illinois State University undergraduates must apply to an academic program. The following procedure will assist students in applying for a program whether they are already in a major and/or minor or are undeclared. Applications may only be submitted during the following dates:

• Feb 01 – Feb 29
• Sep 01 – Sep 30

Apply to a Major/Minor

To apply to a Major or Minor, do the following:

1. Log in to My.IllinoisState.edu.
2. Click the Academics tab.
3. Locate the Advising and Planning section and select Apply to a Major / Minor (Figure 1).

4. Click the Launch Program Change Application button to begin an application (Figure 2).

5. If you are applying for a major, select the department and program from the left-hand column and click Continue (Figure 3).

6. If you are applying for a minor, select the program from the right-hand column and click Continue (Figure 4).

7. Once you click Continue, you will be directed to a confirmation page.

Withdrawing from your Major/Minor

Get in contact with your Academic Advisor through your MY account portal. Inform them of your decision and they will guide you through the steps to withdraw from your Major/Minor.
