Getting the Call-back URL

The ‘Callback URL’ is needed when you manually add the Test/Exam to the ProctorTrack Dashboard for Proctoring and is essentially the 'bridge' between your course exam in ReggieNet and the ProctorTrack dashboard. Ensuring that you correctly copy the Callback URL is very important, as an incorrect Callback URL will result in your exam not displaying to your students in the ProctorTrack environment. The instructions below will guide you on how to access, copy, and use the Callback URL and apply it to the ProctorTrack Dashboard.

To get the Call-back URL, make sure the desired course is selected at the top of your ReggieNet site.

  1. Click Tests & Quizzes in ReggieNet.
  2. Locate the published exam and click the Actions drop-down menu > Settings (See Figure 9).

    Figure 9:
Clicking Settings in the published exam to access callback url
  3. Click About this Assessment bar and copy the Published Assessment URL. This will serve as the call-back URL that you will paste into the ProctorTrack Dashboard when manually adding the test (See Figure 10).
    • To copy the Callback-URL, use the copy clipboard icon
    • Highlight the URL, right-click and choose copy
    • Highlight the URL and press CTRL+C on your Windows keyboard (Command + C if using a Mac).

Applying the Published Exam to ProctorTrack

  1. In ReggieNet, with your desired course selected from the top menu, click the ProctorTrack tab in the left-hand menu of ReggieNet. This will take you to your course's ProctorTrack Dashboard where you can add the test to be proctored.
  2. This will load another page, which is external from ReggieNet and is considered the ProctorTrack Dashboard. To start with adding your ReggieNet exam/test, click ‘Manually Add Test’ in the upper right-hand corner (See Figure 11).
  3. In the 'Manually Add Test' window, the ‘Course ID’ field is populated automatically from your ReggieNet course. You will need to manually enter the exam’s Test Name and Callback URL (To get the Callback URL, follow the steps above as seen in Figure 10).
    • The Name should be what you named the test in when it was created in ReggieNet (e.g., Nutrition Midterm Exam). For the Username field, enter N/A and fill the ‘Password’ field with the same password for the quiz that was entered in the Secondary Password box when you created the test in ReggieNet (Reference Figure 7 above). Click Create Test.

If you intend this to be the onboarding exam, you can click the radial dial labeled Onboarding otherwise, leave the radio button blank. For more information on the Onboarding exam, see: Taking the ProctorTrack Onboarding Exam.

    • Course ID: Leave as is. This field will populate automatically and correspond to your ReggieNet course.
    • Name: Should be the same name in which you named the test in ReggieNet (e.g., Nutrition Midterm Exam). Students will see this name under the ProctorTrack Quiz List as shown above in Figure 11.
    • Username: Enter N/A
    • Password: Enter the same test/exam password that was entered into the Secondary Password field when it was created in ReggieNet. Refer to Figure 7 above to see where this password was first created. This is the password students will use to access the exam, or if you chose to Hide the Access Code/Password, students will be presented with an option to 'Copy' the hidden password, and paste it into a provided field to begin their exam.
    • Callback URL: This is the URL that was copied in ReggieNet during exam creation. See Figure 10 for reference (Also referred to in ReggieNet as the Published Assessment URL).
  4. Click Create Test.

The Test will now be added and displayed to the ProctorTrack Dashboard Quiz List. The Proctoring is enabled by default once the Exam is added to the Quiz list in the ProctorTrack Dashboard. To verify this, you can click the Select Status drop-down to ensure Proctoring is ON. The top of the dashboard shows the metrics for the Onboarding exam, as well as all other exams.

To mark the newly added exam (or any published exam) as the ‘Onboarding Exam,’ simply use the drop down menu option on the right of the exam name and click ‘Onboarding On (This can also be done when creating the test and choosing the Onboarding option). Remember, the onboarding exam is only created as a sample quiz and used to create a profile for new users which will then be reviewed and approved or denied by ProctorTrack. In addition to creating a student profile, it checks the test taker’s system to ensure it has the correct hardware/software to run ProctorTrack.

Only 1 exam in the course should be marked as Onboarding.

You have now successfully set up the exams for proctoring!
