Otter with a screen reader (iOS)

  1. On the main page of the Otter app, you should see all of your transcriptions. To open a transcription click the unlabeled button next to it, not the transcription title its self. Clicking the transcription title does not do anything.
  2. Otter has an AI chatbot to help summarize and answer questions about a meeting. Sometimes voiceover will not read the response of the AI when you move focus to it. To read the response, you must go out of the AI chat screen and back in. This doesn't always happen, but is a common occurrence you may see pop up. For easier use of the chatbot with a screen reader. It is recommended to access the chatbot via the Otter desktop website. You can still record transcripts from your phone. You can then access them from the otter website with your account.

  • Select the transcription you would like exported text for.
  • Make sure the "transcription" tab is selected.
  • Click the "more options" button.
  • Click the "export" button.
  • On this screen, you will see the transcription text, as well as options to include speakers names, export as a monolog, change file format, and more.
  • Once these options are set to your desired preferences, press the "continue" button.
• You will then be brought to the iOS share sheet, where you have the common sharing options, as well as the ability to save the text document to the files app.
